This award recognizes an emerging leader (30 years of age or younger) in Alberta who is demonstrating active community leadership in their community through active living, recreation or parks. Despite being early in their career or volunteer journey, the recipient demonstrates leadership, innovation, and a commitment to fostering active, healthy communities. Although they may not yet hold a senior leadership position, they exemplify the qualities of a future community leader.
How the nominee has taken initiative to lead projects, programs, or advocacy efforts related to active living, recreation or parks.
Evidence of how their contributions in active living, recreation or parks have led to improved quality of life.
How the nominee has introduced new ideas, approaches, or solutions to challenges in their community.
How they have engaged citizens, stakeholders, or peers in meaningful ways.
Indicators that the nominee will continue to be a strong leader in the recreation and parks sector.
