The Alberta Recreation & Parks Association
The Alberta Recreation & Parks Association (ARPA) is a provincial not-for-profit organization committed to collaborating with our members and partners to help build healthy citizens, communities and environments.
We believe recreation and parks include everything from play to sport to culture and outdoor pursuits. All are essential to support the social, mental, spiritual and physical well-being of citizens and communities.

What’s Happening at ARPA
ARPA is celebrating 75 years of leadership in recreation and parks across Alberta.
This milestone presents an opportunity to honour our legacy as well as allow members, partners, alumni and supporters to invest in the future of recreation and parks.
The 75 for 75 Fundraising Campaign combines three interconnected initiatives:
75 Years: This donation campaign allows supporters to make a special $75 anniversary gift or commit to $75 per month.
75 Stories: Our commemorative magazine project that celebrates the people, partnerships, and impact that have shaped ARPA’s first 75 years.
75 Gifts: ARPA’s biggest and most exciting fundraising initiative yet that includes an online auction, raffle, and basket draws built around donated items, experiences, and sponsorship contributions.
Featured Award Recipients
We are proud of the impactful work our members continue to do. Alberta’s recreation and parks community has developed awards and scholarships that honour the leadership of its communities, organizations, volunteers, professionals and the businesses.
