Home All Programs June is Recreation & Parks Month Pride Month
June to September is Pride Season in Canada, a time to celebrate 2SLGBTQI+ people (that is, people who are Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex, or who use other terms related to sexual or gender diversity) and honour the contributions that they have made and continue to make.
Sit virtually with Elders Darryl Brass Jr. and Linda Brass from the Midewiwin Lodge. Based in the Midewiwin teachings, Elders Linda and Darryl Brass Jr. will discuss gender roles, two spirit identity, and how these concepts can be applied to living a healthy life. Elders Darryl Jr and Linda are ceremonial Elders and Midewiwin Lodge Holders. They both work extensively with urban-based Indigenous individuals in the Treaty 7 areas as well as with a wide range of service-based organizations.
