Job Purpose & Responsibilities:
This is a permanent, full-time position with the Corporate Services Department.
Reporting to the Recreation Programs and Services Manager, this position is responsible for:
• Handling the programming, program delivery and program evaluation for the Energy Centre Wellness Centre and the Climbing Wall.
• Front line ambassador to the public and providing excellent customer service to all Energy Centre customers.
• Fitness class programming, overseeing daily operations, training & scheduling all current and new employees, and delivering multiple programs to the public.
• Teaching a variety of fitness classes.
Monday – Friday; 40 hours/week.
Qualification/Competencies:
• Two-year post-secondary diploma in Recreation, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related discipline.
• Two years’ experience in Recreation, Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of fitness and climbing wall programming and equipment is required.
• Fitness certification is an asset.
• The position requires strong customer service skills and a keen interest in assisting others.
• A strong computer skillset is required.
• Standard First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• The individual must have the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• Criminal Record Check and annual Driver Abstract
Salary for this position is $31.76/hr.
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
