The Town of Edson is accepting applications for a Senior Lifeguard-Instructor to support our community’s pool programming schedule.
Why pursue a career in lifeguarding with Edson? We offer flexible scheduling, and incentives, and we invest in our team members. We ensure your Lifeguarding and Instructor certifications do not expire and complete in-house recertification at no cost to you! We make the journey worth your time.
Have fun while earning some extra cash in an occupation that is in demand anywhere in the province, even the country! If that’s not enough to entice you, lifeguards are highly skilled and an important part of public safety in our community. It is an extremely rewarding position to hold.
Did you know that lifeguards are learning the same standard skills as many first responders? A study completed by the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute says that the chance that a bystander in Canada knows and will perform CPR is around 15%. This is a staple skill that is taught to all lifeguards. Throw in the in-water rescues, unconscious protocols, and spinal immobilization and you have an individual that is poised to take on any number of additional occupations.
Already a qualified Lifeguard? Send us your resume and join our amazing team. Not quite there yet or are keenly interested in learning more? We have entry-level positions available too. Reach out to katieb@edson.ca at the pool and she’d be happy to guide you through the process.
