This position works out of the Allan & Jean Millar Centre.
This dynamic position is responsible for the development of fun-filled recreation programs, services, and special events for the community; as well as ensuring that the Allan & Jean Millar Centre Fieldhouse is programmed and utilized to the fullest extent.
Key duties:
– Work as a member of the Allan & Jean Millar Centre team to promote and support exceptional guest services.
– Uphold Allan & Jean Millar Centre policies and procedures, ensuring safe practices.
– Identify and seek to meet the recreation needs of the community.
– Plan, implement and evaluate a variety of community and facility programs and special events.
– Assist with securing funding for some recreation events.
– Work as a member of the marketing team to promote recreation services and programs.
– Liaise with and provide support to community organizations with the goal of a comprehensive community recreation system.
– Hire, supervise, train, schedule and evaluate Program Leaders and Facility Monitors.
Qualifications include:
– A degree or diploma in Recreation Administration or related field or equivalent.
– 3 years supervisory experience.
– Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
– Experience with community development and developing and implementing community programs and special events.
– A high level of innovation, organizational skills and self-motivation.
– Knowledge of municipal operations, volunteer organizations, and recreation facility operations.

Some early morning, evening, and weekend work is required.
