The Town of La Ronge is a scenic lake side community offering a full range of services and amenities located in the heart of Northern Saskatchewan with a population of approximately 3,000. The Town is seeking an enthusiastic individual to provide leadership and assistance in the day-to-day operations of the parks and recreation department. Reporting to the Community Services Manager, this position will be responsible for overseeing staff in the performance of duties, as well as assisting the manager with planning as required. The position is expected to be a senior operator and is required to perform general labour, maintenance, operation and repair activities on all Town of La Ronge parks, open spaces and recreation facilities, assist with the set-up and clean-up of special functions, and performs daily safety and maintenance checks on all equipment and facilities, as well as performs other related duties as required. As a condition of employment, the individual is expected to work year-round in a variety of weather conditions and be physically able to perform strenuous work. Employment will be 38.75 hours/week and candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends if/when required. The successful candidate must possess Standard First Aid training and have a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license. The incumbent must possess Arena Operator 1&2, Building Maintenance 1, Ball Diamonds and Sports Fields 1, Playground Safety Awareness and Curling Ice Technician certifications.
