PARKS AND FACILITIES LABOURER
Temporary Full-Time Positions (MAY 1st – AUGUST 30th)

Our team is seeking Parks and Facilities Labourers reporting directly to the Parks & Facilities Team Lead. This position will be responsible to assist in all operations of the department, including, but not limited to:
• Documentation of all daily, weekly and monthly process.
• Ensure all municipal facilities and properties are clean and safe.
• Any duties associated with landscaping, parks and facilities operations.
• Assist with emptying and cleaning of all garbage cans located at various locations throughout the town.
• Safe operation of equipment associated with parks management.
• Operation of Town vehicles when needed.
• Respond appropriately to patrons/residents inquires or concerns.
Qualifications
• Must be between the ages of 18 and 30 years old to be eligible for this Canada Summer Jobs position.
• A Canada Summer Jobs National Priority Initiative is to remove barriers to employment for youth, applicants are encouraged to self-identify in their cover letter if they are underrepresented in the labour market such as Black and other racialized youth, Indigenous youth, 2SLGBTQI+ youth.
• Knowledge and/or experience in parks maintenance operations and use of related equipment is an asset
• Safety conscious
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and driver’s abstract required
• Current First Aid and CPR certification is an asset
• WHMIS certification would be considered an asset
• Criminal Record Check is required
Applicants may be hired as Labourer 1 or 2 based on experience

Salary range for this position is based on level of education and experience and is between $19.16-19.92 an hour
