We are currently recruiting for Exercise & Wellness Specialists. Specialists are responsible for providing exceptional front-line customer service and program/fitness service delivery to our guests. This is a casual position with the opportunity to work up to full-time hours, you will also have an opportunity to utilize your skills and training for personal training, group fitness instruction and more.
Exercise & Wellness Specialists supervise the fitness area, deliver fitness centre orientations, provide member goal setting sessions, deliver fitness services, assist with equipment maintenance and some cleaning duties.
This position will also provide other services such as: group fitness instruction, personal training and fitness assessments (a separate wage scale will be applied for those positions).
The individuals we seek are motivated self starters who enjoy being part of a collaborative group. We want to work with people who are committed to ongoing professional development and are enthusiastic about demonstrating their knowledge of best practices in the Fitness & Wellness field. Individuals who are successful on our team are people-centric and have a passion for helping and taking on new opportunities. As a member of the Servus Place team you will have staff access to use the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A degree or diploma in Physical Education, Kinesiology or a related field.
• We seek individuals with a minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in a recreation/fitness environment.
• CSEP-CPT, NSCA-CSCS or equivalent certifications are required.
• AFLCA or equivalent group exercise certification would be an asset.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification is required, prior to hire, for this position.
• The ideal candidate will be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and have experience with a membership management database.
COMPENSATION
The hourly wage range as a Specialist is $20.28 – $24.70
A separate wage range will apply for additional positions such as:
Group Fitness Instruction $30.00 – $55.00 per hour
Personal Training $20.00 – $42.50 per hour
HOURS OF WORK
The facility is open:
Monday – Friday 5:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Saturday 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Sunday 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
