The Role
The Data Science Analyst at ActiveXchange is a full-time remote-first role responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data sets, creating models, and developing predictive algorithms to help organizations make informed and strategic decisions. The Data Science Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop insights, identify trends, and communicate complex technical ideas in a clear and understandable way for our key accounts in sports, recreation, and leisure across our global network of clients.

Capitalize on your strong data focused technical background and experience with business intelligence and technology to act as a subject matter expert internally and for our clients and enable a collaborative approach to maximizing value of client and sector data.
Shape an industry approach and empower data application to positively influence people being more active, more often.
You will:
Be confident and knowledgeable in working with data supplied in various formats from customers (CSV, Excel etc.) and wrangling and ingesting that data. Using “the right tool for the job” to then work with that data to analyze and compute desired outcomes.
Continuously maintain a deep understanding of our products and solutions to be a subject matter expert for our clients, including demonstrations and presentations.
Oversee the technical and data support for a portfolio of ActiveXchange’s clients to deliver an ongoing seamless user experience / program.
Ensure quality and accuracy of datasets; then process, design and present data in ways which help people, businesses and organizations make better decisions.
Interpret and apply internal and external stakeholders technical goals, objectives, and requirements. Track and report on progress. Enable customer value through timely delivery of technical data product, analytics, and intelligence.
Produce bespoke client data analytics and visualizations, in a timely fashion in compliance with technical requirements and commercial priorities of the business.
Conduct peer-reviews of technical and data work product.
Produce cohesive and efficient documentation for knowledge sharing; when designing/improving processes, procedures, standards, etc.
Work closely with other functions such as Product, Data and Analytics, Technology, and Commercial to ensure a smooth journey for our customers during all stages of their lifecycle.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
2+ years of professional experience in data analysis, data science, or a related quantitative role.
Highly logical with strong demonstration of critical thinking and analytical approach to problem solving. Demonstrates methodical and consistent application of structured problem-solving techniques. Solid understanding of statistical analysis and modelling techniques, including regression, clustering, and decision trees.
Proficiency (and broad skillsets) across tools associated with data management and analytics, including and not limited to;
Excel, .csv
Azure SQL Server, Data Studio, T-SQL
Azure Data Factory, Databricks
Python, Jupyter Notebooks
Looker Studio (or similar BI tools)
QGIS & MapBox (or similar GIS tools)
Experience with machine learning techniques such as Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, or Neural Networks.
Excellent at cultivating and leveraging strong technical working relationships, both internally and externally. Experience working in a global multinational context is a plus.
Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (Azure) and in a SaaS context is a plus.
Experience with demonstrable application of sports or recreation industry data is a plus. Data literate within a sport, leisure, or recreation context, with the ability to understand and apply “real world” critical thinking to customer datasets and business intelligence.
Technical professional fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing). Must convey information clearly and concisely, while demonstrating the ability to understand the same.
Experience working with Google Productivity suite, Slack, and ClickUp or similar productivity systems.

Preference may be given to strong candidates located in a major Canadian city.
Salary Range & Benefits
$80-$100k CAD (commensurate with qualifications and experience),
Health/Dental/Life Stipend, Fitness/Wellness Stipend, and more.
