We invite speakers, industry leaders, researchers, and community advocates to share their knowledge, innovative ideas, and best practices with colleagues from across the recreation and parks sector.
Presenting at our annual conference is a valuable opportunity to contribute to sector learning, spark new ideas, and connect with professionals from across Alberta.

Legacy in Action: Celebrating 75 Years
For 75 years, the Alberta Recreation & Parks Association has brought people together to support healthy citizens, communities, and environments across Alberta. This year’s Conference & Energize Workshop is more than a celebration; it’s a chance to reflect on the relationships, learning, and shared experiences that have shaped ARPA over the decades.
Throughout our history, one theme has surfaced again and again from those who have been part of ARPA’s journey: the sense of family that has grown through our work together. For many, the conference has been more than a professional gathering. It has been a place to reconnect, share ideas, support one another, and feel part of something larger than ourselves.
The theme of Legacy in Action is more than a moment of celebration. It is a reminder that legacy is active. It is about the work we have done, the insights we have gained, and how we choose to carry that forward together. These efforts have been strengthened by the relationships that connect our members and partners, creating a community that often feels like family.
This theme invites participants to celebrate our shared history and shape the future, turning legacy into intentional action that continues ARPA’s mission.

Note on the Registration Prices
We would like to inform you that the conference price for this year’s event has increased due to the all-inclusive conference experience we offer. The conference registration includes 7 meals from Thursday dinner to Saturday dinner, 44+ session options, 3 keynote speakers, an industry trade show, and several social and networking options.
We understand that price increases can be frustrating, but we believe that the value of this package far outweighs the additional cost. By including all meals, encompassing education options and offering a wide range of social and networking opportunities, we are creating an immersive experience that will enable attendees to fully engage with the conference material and their fellow attendees.
Furthermore, the increased price allows us to provide a high-quality experience that meets the needs of our attendees. We are committed to delivering the best possible conference, and this all-inclusive package is one way we are working to achieve that goal.

Hotel Room Block and Booking Notice
Please note that the official conference room block at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge will open at the same time as our event registration. Booking details and the direct reservation link will be shared once registration goes live. Rooms cannot be secured through our group rate prior to that time.
We are also aware — and the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has confirmed — that a third-party scam is currently circulating, contacting individuals about booking accommodations for our event at the hotel. These messages are fraudulent.
Please be advised:
- We do not use third-party housing companies.
- The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge will not contact you directly to solicit bookings.
- The only way to access our negotiated conference rate is through the official link we will share on our website.
If you receive any suspicious calls or emails regarding hotel reservations, we strongly encourage you not to engage and to book only through the official conference channels.
