Now Hiring: Team Lead, Aquatics & Community Programs (Competition #23-78)
Parkland County has an opportunity for a temporary, full-time Team Lead, Aquatics & Community Programs position working from approximately January 2024 to December 2024. Reporting to the Manager, Community Programs, this position is responsible for supporting the delivery of programs offered through Community Services and overseeing the seasonal operations of the aquatics facility. This position will develop and administer preventative programs and events that support community programs and initiatives. From May to September each year, this position oversees the aquatic facility including lifeguard and instructor staff to ensure aquatic services delivery meet County and industry standards. This position coordinates and oversees special events for community initiatives and aquatic programs.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
High school Diploma supplemented by post-secondary coursework in Recreation, Social Work or related discipline (or equivalent).
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience lifeguarding and instructing at a senior lifeguard level. Must have previous experience in a supervisory, leadership or mentorship of staff capacity. Experience in program planning and facilitation would be considered an asset.
Required Certifications:
National Lifeguard Award
Aquatic Instructor Award
Standard First Aid with CPR, Level C
Assets:
Oxygen Administration
Pool Operator Level 1 and Level 2
Advanced instructor certification
Current Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to start of employment, completed at employee’s expense.
Successful Child Intervention Record Check.
Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
Possess excellent problem solving, multitasking, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with difficult situations and customer complaints with confidence.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
A starting annual salary of $50,078 to $62,597 based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
