The City of Kamloops’ Recreation Services Division is looking for a progressive and motivated Permanent, Full-Time Sport Development Coordinator. This position will provide active engagement in sport and recreation programs and services that focus on the healthy living needs and wellbeing of our citizens and community. The Sport Development Coordinator will build meaningful relationships with recreation and sport groups and organizations who support building a healthy, active community.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
1. Completion of a post-secondary degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology or Recreation with minimum of one year’s experience (within the past three years) in the development, organization, and evaluation of sport programs;
OR
Completion of a post-secondary degree in an unrelated field with three years experience (within the past five years) in the development, organization, and evaluation of sport and recreation programs and current certifications in Fundamental Movement Skills through the National Coaching Certification Program and Introduction to Physical Literacy through Sport for Life.
2. Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
3. Valid BC Driver’s Licence – Class 5 (or equivalent)
For new hires, and those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive package is included with this position.
Hours & Days of Work: 35 hours/ week, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (winter), 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (summer)
