Senior Recreation Program Leader

Leduc County is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Recreation Program Leader to join our team. Reporting to the Community Program Coordinator, this exciting opportunity leads summer recreation programs, events and day camps. As a member of the Parks and Recreation team, the Senior Recreation Program Leader supports the achievement of the department’s operational deliverables.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Contributes to the operation of the department’s parks and recreation programs by performing work and adhering to technical and municipal standards.
• Assists with the collection of program evaluations and feedback.
  • Supports planning and implementing summer recreation programs, events and day camps.
  • Leads day camps and drop in programs when needed.
• Supports Recreation Program Leaders and volunteers.
• Adheres to guidelines as set out in Leduc County’s policies and administrative directives.
• Accountable for working in compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.
• Performs related duties as required and assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must-have

• High school diploma, Standard First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certification (or willing to obtain), and a criminal records check – vulnerable sector.

Nice to have

• Enrollment in a post-secondary program specializing in recreation, child care or one (1) to two (2) years summer camp recreation program planning experience or related discipline and a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license are assets.

This opportunity is seasonal full-time and is 40 hours per week scheduled Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with the possibly of some extended hours to meet operational requirements.

The office is located at 101-1101 5 St. Nisku, AB.
