The Job

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Executive Leadership Team as the General Manager of Community & Protective Services.
As a vital member of our leadership team, you will oversee and guide crucial public services, including Fire, Enforcement, Recreation, and Community Development Services. Your strategic vision will shape our Town’s future, ensuring the safety, well-being, and growth of our community. The Candidate
You exhibit the qualities of a progressive leader and motivator and are adept at fostering strong teams and building meaningful relationships. Your focus is on cultivating a collaborative, and professional workplace atmosphere. Your dedication lies in achieving outcomes through effective leadership, skilled decision-making, budgeting, and navigating intricate political landscapes. Simultaneously, you support the Town’s vision of nurturing a dynamic and enthusiastic community.
The ideal candidate should have a wealth of senior managerial experience at an advanced level. We highly value a proactive attitude towards professional development and seek someone who has expertly translated their experience into a strong emphasis on community-focused excellence. In addition to the above, we require applicants to possess:
• An undergraduate degree in one of the related disciplines or in Public or Business Administration
• Post-secondary degree in the field of Fire and Safety, Public Safety Administration, Criminology, or related field
• Post-secondary degree or equivalent in Recreation, or a related field
• Local Government Certificate or equivalent is desirable
• A minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years at a senior leadership level managing a multi-faceted operation; preferably in a municipal government

What do we offer?
Compensation:
The wage range for this position is $137,000 to $163,500 per year. Candidate placement within the range during the first six months on the job is dependent on experience and available budget.
