THE ROLE
The Facilities Coordinator plays an important role, supporting a culture of health, fitness and sports by providing quality, safe, secure, functional and inviting indoor and outdoor facilities to our military members and their families.
Leading a dynamic and dedicated team, the role plans and coordinates the maintenance, repair or construction of local facilities, maintains sports fields and fitness trails, and schedules the use of recreation facilities. The Facilities Coordinator is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day activities and tasks for the facilities team while advising managers on routine maintenance in all facilities, recommending facility upgrades, designs and requirements, as well as coordinating and organizing specialized events and many other related tasks.
In addition, this role positively contributes to CFMWS’s culture by actively participating in client engagement, local committees, and interacting with our military members and their families.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Facility Resource Management, Recreation Facility Management, Leisure Services, or a related field AND some years of experience in facilities coordination or in a related field.
Experience
In coordinating the maintenance and repair of facilities and related equipment
In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation
In facilities maintenance and repair procedures
In project management
In budget administration
In personnel administration
In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail and Internet browsing
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
English Essential / Bilingual an asset
Reading: Functional
Writing: Functional
Oral: Functional
