YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Aquatics Supervisor to help be the spark that ignites potential in our community! In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in creating a safe and positive environment for all individuals while overseeing the delivery of aquatic programs and services. As our Aquatics Supervisor, you’ll:
• Recruit, hire, train, coach and manage staff and volunteers within program areas.
• Hold staff and volunteers accountable for delivering high-quality services through excellent member relationships.
• Coordinate and supervise program and pool operations, ensuring quality and meeting targets.
• Provide direct program delivery, including swimming lessons and lifeguarding.
• Monitor program quality and respond to trends while maintaining the highest safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols.
• Manage program budgets and handle administrative duties.
•Assume facility operation responsibilities during assigned Duty Manager shifts.
• Support department, branch and association goals.
To be a successful candidate, you should have:
• Leadership Experience: At least 2 years in an aquatic leadership capacity.
• Education: University degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications:
– Standard First Aid & CPR-C
– Lifesaving National Lifeguard (NL)
– YMCA Swim Instructor (YSI), and/or Lifesaving Instructor (LSI)
– Leadership Certification in Aquatic Supervisor Training (AST), National Lifeguard Instructor (NLI), First Aid Instructor (FAI), Lifesaving Trainer (T), or National Trainer (NT)
Background Check: Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check.
