Our current and past members\, partners and those who enjoy recreation and parks are welcome to join! \n\n\n\n\nIs parking available?\nThere is FREE parking available in the parking lot and on the street.. The event is also accessible via Calgary Transit. \n\n\n\n\nWill there be seating available?\nThere will be seating indoors for the opening remarks and Elder panel. However\, we suggest bringing foldable lawn chairs for outdoor seating as benches are limited. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nIs the venue wheelchair accessible?\nThis event is wheelchair accessible for the indoor portion. There will be activities such as\, tipi set up\, yard games and round dances taking place in the greenspace beside the Riverbend Community Association venue \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is the format of the event?\nThe event will consist of opening remarks\, an Indigenous Elder panel\, outdoor activities\, round dancing and an ongoing BBQ. \n\n\n\n\nWill food or drink be provided?\nThere will be a BBQ provided from 1:30 onwards. This will be handheld bison and bannock burgers and a cookie dessert – these are first come\, first serve. There will be gluten-friendly and vegan options available. Please feel free to bring your own food\, if you wish. \n\n\n\n\nIs there a dress code?\nThe event is both indoors and outdoors so dress for the weather! \n\n\n\n\nIs it indoors or outdoors?\nThere will be both indoor and outdoor components to the event. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nCan I help set up the tipi?\nAbsolutely! Join us at 10:00 AM at the Riverbend Community Association venue for a hands-on experiential learning opportunity as we work together to set up the tipi. Please dress comfortably for physical activity and outdoor participation.
