ARPA is looking to facilitate a series of regional recreation meetings across the province!
These day-long meetings would bring ARPA members and other stakeholders together to network, discuss and explore topics of shared interest related to community recreation development and delivery in their respective municipalities and surrounding regions. ARPA will provide content and resources as well as assist in facilitating discussions on topics self-identified by each specific region. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss implementation efforts of pan-Canadian recreation and physical activity policies that were informed and inspired by many Alberta municipalities, organizations and recreation leaders.
ARPA is also looking to host Recreation and Parks for Elected Officials Workshops in conjunction with these meetings. This day-long workshop, lead by Greg Krischke, would be directed at municipal elected officials with a focus on recreation and parks.
These meetings would be free for attendees and would include lunch. However, there will not be any support available to assist with travel costs. This project is being supported over a three-year period, and the concept is to make these at least annual regional workshops that would be sustainable into the future.
At this stage we are looking for any expression of interest in communities that might be willing to host a regional meeting as described above. If you are interested contact Steve Allan at email@example.com or (780) 644-4799 to find out more information.
