We would like to thank the Honourable Sarah Hoffman for presenting ARPA with a $20,512.00 grant award to assist with the hosting the Healthy Child and Youth Development: ARPA Programs and Symposia.
The grant from the Government of Alberta's Community Initiative Program (CIP) is awarded to organizations that create opportunities for Albertans to engage and help enhance their communities.
ARPA's Healthy Child and Youth Development project consisted of the Joy in Nature contest and the Youth Development Through Recreation Service (YDRS) Symposium. The Joy in Nature contest winners, Thorhild Central School and Fort McKay E-Learning Centre, won 2-day trips to Nordegg and Jasper, Alberta, respectively. The YDRS Symposium was a 2-day workshop that took place March 7-8th, 2018 in Red Deer. The bi-annual forum saw over 50 youth development volunteers and professionals attend this event.
Part of the funding provided by the CIP grant will be used to develop an online learning forum focused on children and youth development sometime in the fall of 2018.
ARPA would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the Government of Alberta for this important funding and to the Honourable Sarah Hoffman for visiting ARPA to learn more about this project.
