Thank you for joining us at the beautiful Jasper Park Lodge over the weekend for our Annual Conference and Energize Workshop.
We are pleased to announce we hosted over 525 delegates, including 105 elected officials. The conference featured three engaging keynote speakers, over 40 sessions, and unique social activities like the Viking-themed tradeshow, the 5 km Superhero Fun Run and Scavenger Hunt and star-gazing by the lake on Saturday evening. We were also proud to include a number of Indigenous-focused sessions, as well as the Connecting through Research stream for academics and practitioners to network and share knowledge.
The concluding event to the conference, the President's Awards Banquet on Saturday evening, honoured twenty deserving recipients. We were extremely proud to host a number of dignitaries at the banquet, including Her Honour, Lois E. Mitchell, the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, the Honourable Ricardo Miranda, and MLA Eric Rosendahl.
We hope you felt encouraged, challenged and inspired by the conference. ARPA looks forward to working with you in the coming months to collaboratively build recreation and parks in Alberta.
We are currently gathering session presentations which we will post and share with delegates and members via the Leisure Information Network.
We invite you to join us for next year's conference from October 26-28, 2017 at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
