The City of Coquitlam is currently seeking dynamic Aquatic Recreation Program Coordinator with solid skills in delivering aquatic community recreation programs. This supervisory position will coordinate the growth and development of aquatic recreation programs for a variety of ages. In addition, the work involves training and evaluating staff, evaluating programs and ensuring a high level of customer service. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Aquatic recreation programming in a municipal setting working with a variety of ages, and will have a strong working knowledge of industry trends.  Additionally, qualified candidates will have experience training and mentoring volunteers.    

The successful candidate will have completed a University or community college program with a degree or diploma in community recreation or related discipline plus sound related supervisory experience, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Life Saving Instructor, National Lifeguard Award (Pool and Waterpark option), Standard First Aid Certificate, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Certificate Level "C".  A Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is required.

A CUPE hourly rate of $30.37-$35.74, a comprehensive benefits package as well as a compressed work week is being offered. Applicants under consideration will be required to consent to a Police Information Check.  Please attach a recent driver’s abstract (within 30 days) to your application.
