Job: Recreation Facilities Attendant - Town of Okotoks

Our Arenas at the Recreation Centre and Pason locations play a key role in providing Okotoks with enjoyable leisure activities. We are looking for candidates who enjoy working with people to join our team. You must be willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in to create a safe, fun environment in the Arenas. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in learning and gaining experience in basic arena and general labour duties related to maintaining ice, equipment, and recreation facilities. We have an expectation that the incumbent provides excellent customer service, including handling complaints, crowd control, event set-up/tear-down, basic security, and assisting user groups as needed.

You need a high school diploma, and 2 years previous labour experience, preferably in an Arena setting, plus possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license.  Possession of Level 1 Ice making is a definite asset. The ability to work effectively both alone and with others and good customer service skills are needed. The position requires workers to be in good physical condition and to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions.

This is a non-permanent employment opportunity of up to 12 months in duration, working 40 hour per week. Evening and weekend shifts are the norm for this position. More than one position may be filled from this posting.
