Clerk II – Facility Bookings

One (1) Permanent Part-Time Position

Reporting to the Recreation Community Coordinator, the Facility Bookings Clerk is responsible for scheduling and booking identified City of Fort Saskatchewan facilities. Booking requests include sport specific, weddings, funerals, social events, conferences and training sessions. The Clerk adheres to City Allocation Policy and Procedures, Lease and Reciprocal Use Agreements, Conditions of Rental, and the Fees and Charges Bylaw to process requests for recreation space for a variety of clients ranging from not-for-profit organizations, individuals and businesses.  This position maintains client accounts, has financial duties such as invoicing and fee collection and maintains facility data in a facility scheduling software program.

A minimum of three years’ experience in a related position is required, with emphasis on providing excellent customer service and detailed data input.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate superior communication and interpersonal skills, and be self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently and effectively to ensure that work is accomplished in all relevant aspects, within appropriate timelines.  The ability to communicate verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner is essential. Completion of an office administration certificate would be considered an asset. Previous experience with bookings and payment/credit card processing is required.  Candidates must be proficient in MS Office Suite with emphasis on Word and Excel, have accurate intermediate keyboarding skills, and working knowledge of office equipment. Only candidates, who are detail orientated, able to focus, multi-task and handle a very high volume of requests calmly, need apply.

The successful candidate will be required to go through a series of clerical testing, including Microsoft Office Word and Excel, keyboarding and general office procedures.   

This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement.

Rate of Pay: $25.48 - $28.00 per hour (currently under negotiation)

Hours of Work: Minimum 15 hours per week (Monday through Friday)
