Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Community Recreation Supervisor, the specialty Instructor plans, organizes and delivers classes. He/ She prepare class schedules. The Speciality Instructor assists in the design of recreational programs and implements changes as required. She/he also assists with advertising and public relations information, as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma AND some years experience conducting dance classes

OR

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered

AND

Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications

Current Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Operator Certificate

HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification and Healthy Minds for Healthy Children Certification, as required

Language Requirement: English Essential

Experience Requirements:

  • In planning, organizing, and delivering Hip Hop Dance classes
  • In monitoring and controlling large groups of participants
  • In ensuring safety protocols and procedures
  • In providing customer service

Salary:

$20.00/hr

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of Community Recreation Supervisor, the Competitive Gymnastics Instructor designs and develops community recreation program syllabus/content and lesson plans within the guidelines of a recognized certifying organization. He/She plans, organizes and prepares recreation activities within the guidelines of a recognized certifying organization, and instructs and leads recreation classes for different ages and abilities levels. He/She monitors classes to ensure safety and provides emergency or first aid assistance when required. The incumbent also attends to clients with special needs.

Qualifications:

High school diploma AND some years of experience conducting classes

OR

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered

AND

Current National Coaching Certification Program Level 1 in Gymnastics

Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications

Current Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Operator Certificate

HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development Certification and Healthy Minds for Healthy Children Certification, as required

Provincial Gymnastics organization risk management module is an asset

Language Requirement: English Essential

Experience Requirements:

  • In specific program area – competitive gymnastics  
  • In teaching and leading recreation programs
