SUMMARY:Healthy Communities Framework Webinar Series: Partnerships Pillar
DESCRIPTION:Join Communities ChooseWell September 14 from 11:00am – 12:00pm for their next webinar of the Healthy Communities Framework Webinar Series where they will explore the Partnerships Pillar and why creating partnerships are a crucial part of successful community healthy eating and active living initiatives.  \n\n\n\nThis webinar will feature two panelists: Adrian Goulet from Mahegun Tails and Taylor McPherson from Indigenous Sport Council of Alberta.  They’ll share their knowledge and experience on how they’ve built meaningful partnerships and how the partnerships they’ve built have successfully contributed to the impact of their work.  \n\n\n\nCommitting to building authentic relationships and trust takes time and commitment. At ARPA\, we are both privileged and honoured to collaborate with Indigenous communities and partners in this capacity. These opportunities to uplift and work with Indigenous communities come from years of building relatives and meaningful relationships with leaders and champions from the community. Our huge thanks goes to our partners for sharing the gift of these incredible teachings.

SUMMARY:Grandmothers' Circle: Tobacco Teachings
DESCRIPTION:At ARPA we often get questions related to Elders and the proper use of tobacco. To honour and celebrate National Day for Truth and Reconciliation\, this session will feature five multi-nation Elders\, including Diane Meguinis (Tsuut’ina)\, Doreen Healy (Blackfoot)\, Linda & Darryl Brass (Midewiwin) and Karli Crowshoe (Blackfoot) who will kindly share their expertise on the significance of offering tobacco\, how to offer it properly\, and why it is used in smudge. \n\n\n\nThis session has been generously sponsored by Communities ChooseWell and Alberta Blue Cross. \n\n\n\nThis event is part of ARPA’s September programming in honour and recognition of Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth & Reconciliation (September 30).
