QUEST 1 Tool: Reviewing Best Practices
QUEST 1 is designed to assist in reviewing policies and procedures related to safety, staff/volunteer relations, risk management and other important areas. It examines the extent of organizational awareness, documentation and compliance to existing policies and procedures.
QUEST 2 Tool: Observing the Child's Experience
QUEST 2 is an observation tool that measures the quality of interactions between children and the program environment. A complete Program Assessment can be done in just 40 minutes! Programs that receive a high score in the five areas evaluated through QUEST 2, support the healthy development of children.
The HIGH FIVE(R) Guide to Best Practices
This comprehensive tool is linked directly to the quality indicators in the QUEST 1 and QUEST 2 tools. It includes sample policies and procedures, formatting suggestions and training implications to enable departments to increase quality by strengthening the directional focus of the department.
Leader Appraisal Tool
This tool is aligned with the quality indicators in QUEST 2 and enables supervisors to provide staff with specific feedback related to healthy child development supports. Using this tool in conjunction with the QUEST 2 enables staff to understand the connections that are needed to ensure that a child's experience, while in their care, is a healthy one.
Program Planning Pad
These 25-sheet pads guide leaders through programming choices that support healthy child development. Each page has space for planning activities bordered by 16 questions that direct child-centred programming choices.
