The Town of Okotoks has two employment opportunities available with our Aquatics Team!
Permanent Part-time Lifeguard(s)

We are currently recruiting for 2 permanent part time Lifeguard positions to round out our Aquatics team. These positions are guaranteed a minimum of 20 hours per week on a regular basis.
We are looking for energetic team players who are committed to ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience for patrons, and skilled and experienced to perform general lifeguarding and instructing duties. Candidates who have above-average mechanical aptitude and maintenance experience in an Aquatics environment are particularly attractive to us. In keeping with the Town’s philosophy, first consideration is given to fully-qualified internal applicants. Because a large number of Aquatics staff are students who may not have an interest in or availability for permanent situations, the competition is also open to external candidates.
These positions will cover day, evening and night shifts that includes weekends. In addition to general lifeguard duties it is expected that incumbents perform administrative duties as outlined by the Aquatics Supervisor. Incumbents must have a high school diploma, be 18 years of age, and have NLS certification, Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) with Swim for Life, and Standard First Aid, CPR – level C. Possession of Pool Operations I and Aqua-fitness (CALA) are assets. Must have the equivalent of 2 years (4,000 hours) hands-on experience in an Aquatics environment. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are a must.

The Aquatics team is looking for energetic team players for lifeguard shifts that will encompass day, evening and weekend coverage. General lifeguarding duties will be performed, requiring the incumbent to be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma, NLS certification, Lifesaving Instructor (LSI), Standard First Aid and CPR – level C. Other Instructor certifications, Pool Operations I, and Aqua-fitness (CALA) are assets. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Please note that students under 18 may also be considered, working in a Junior Lifeguard capacity. Junior Lifeguards do not work on deck alone.
