The Alberta Recreation and Parks Association's awards celebrate the innovative and successful endeavours in the recreation and parks industry. These awards and scholarships also advocate the importance of recreation and parks services in Alberta communities.

Recreation and parks services in Alberta have added great value to the quality of life for all Albertans and have helped create many healthy and thriving citizens and communities. Many individuals, groups, agencies and communities have contributed to the success of the recreation and parks industry in Alberta and should be acknowledged for their achievements.

ARPA is firmly committed to the the development of the recreation and parks field's budding practitioners. ARPA presently offers three different scholarships to post-secondary students enrolled in recreation and parks-related programs in the province of Alberta.

The Recreation Industry Awards of Excellence is a biennial awards program that was launched in 2010 by the Recreation for Life Foundation. These awards seek to honour achievement, excellence, creativity, and innovation by Alberta's corporate sector, reinforcing the critical role business people and companies play in enhancing personal health, community well-being, and quality of life through recreation and parks development.
