Recognizing Recreation and Parks Excellence

The recreation and parks community in Alberta, over time, has developed a variety of awards and recognition programs that celebrate leadership and excellence of its communities, its community organizations, its volunteers, its professionals and the businesses that support it. These awards acknowledge outstanding contributions to community building that advance the values and beliefs of, not only ARPA, but also the Recreation for Life Foundation, the Ministry and other partners.

ARPA Awards The Alberta Recreation and Parks Association's awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals, groups, agencies and communities whose contributions to recreation and parks have greatly enhanced the quality of life of Albertans. June 30, 2016
ARPA Scholarships ARPA is committed to the development of the recreation and parks sector's budding practitioners, offering three scholarships to post-secondary students enrolled in recreation and parks-related programs. June 30, 2016
Lieutenant Governor's Awards  The Lieutenant Governor’s Leadership for Active Communities Awards recognize the achievements of the groups and individuals who are leading their communities in strategic change that increases citizen participation in active living, recreation and sport resulting in healthier people and communities. June 30, 2016
Recreation Industry Awards of Excellence

These awards showcase and celebrate best practices, encourage emulation and draw attention to the value of Alberta companies and entrepreneurs within the recreation and parks industry in Alberta.

Alberta Recreation Volunteer Recognition Awards

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism annually recognizes four volunteers who, through their volunteer commitment and dedication, have significantly enhanced the development of recreation in Alberta.
