Protocol Agreements

Tripartite Partnership

In late 2008, Alberta's Ministry of Tourism, Parks and Recreation, the University of Alberta's Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation, and the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking the beginning of an innovative three-year partnership and financial commitment.

This partnership is intended to enhance the province's recreation and parks sector by strengthening communication and collaboration between the three parties. As a component of the initiative, a Senior Liaison of Leadership and Profressional Development was recruited in early 2009 to teach several classes at the University, and to provide advice and oversight relative to a number of key strategic priorites for the partner organizations.

AUMA-ARPA Protocol Agreement

In 2007, the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) and ARPA formalized their working relationship through a protocol agreement.

The intent of the agreement is to enhance inter-agency collaboration in matters of joint interest, such as municipal land-use planning, urban parks, active transportation, and healthy communities.
